In addition to recruitment and staff management services, Sebcon Contracting Services also has a specialist Welding Division that caters for bespoke coded welding training courses and welding development solutions. All welders are trained in-house through our fully qualified and experienced welding instructors, saving you time and money on a training solution that is available at a much more affordable rate than most training and coding facilities.
We pride ourselves on offering a personalised service, whilst providing expert skills and resources through constant review, compilation and approval of Welding Procedures. This function is handled by a very experienced Welding Technologist in collaboration with an accredited Welding Test Authority and all procedures are written or reviewed according to the latest National Welding Standards.
What We Do
The evaluation, training and/or upgrading of skills for welders/boilermakers, carried out at your Training Department or boiler shop in the different sections.
The duration of the course is dependent on each individual’s capabilities, experience and qualifications as well as the standards you require, but is generally set between 4-5 days.
If required, Sebcon can train or enhance your boilermaker’s welding skills up to the coding standards and conduct code testing to the following standards:
• ASME IX
• British Standards E.N. ISO 15614
• SABS 044
• AWS D1.1
• AWS D14.3
All of the above standards cover structural and pipe welding on any material and welding process.
For code testing, a Government approved Inspection Authority will be involved to carry out radiography and certification.
All courses are registered with the Department of Manpower and Mining Qualifications Authority nr. 178353 and ETDP-SETA nr: 25412. Although the course is registered in full, we structure the courses to suit our clients’ requirements.
